Filament Winding
We tension and impregnate dry fibre materials, such as carbon, aramid, or fiberglass, before applying them to a rotating tool. This semiautonomous process reduces costs and ensures consistent, high-performance parts. We also offer design support and custom composite specifications tailored to your needs.
Composite Component Manufacturing
In-Autoclave (IA) Curing enhances composite strength and durability using a high-pressure, high-temperature chamber. Out-of-Autoclave (OOA) Curing provides a versatile, cost-effective alternative, composite manufacturing without the need for high-pressure equipment.
Paint Booth Oven
Our 30-meter paint booth ensures high-quality finishes with precise control of temperature, pressure, and humidity. We offer various finishes, including clear coats, matte, gloss, and metallic, to meet all customer aesthetic and performance needs.

Aerospace

Southern Spars’ revolutionary innovations extend beyond Earth, having contributed to aerospace technology. One of our projects saw deployable booms make history. These booms supported 22-square-meter solar arrays, which powered the Xenon Ion Thruster that propelled a satellite.

The Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) technology, utilised on this mission, featured a compact and lightweight design for launch. Once in space, the ROSA arrays deployed to their full length of 8.6 meters (28 feet), using high-efficiency solar cells and reflective concentrators to deliver three times more power than traditional arrays. This technology enabled the spacecraft to achieve its mission objectives, including asteroid deflection through kinetic impact.
