Rigging Products

Multistrand Carbon Rigging

ECsix cables deliver an unmatched blend of performance, durability, and reliability, making them the top choice for rigging on yachts of all sizes. These cables have been thoroughly tested across all levels of yachting, from the Volvo Ocean Race and IMOCA 60s to TP52s, Mini Maxis, and even the largest superyachts in the world.

The exceptional durability of ECsix comes from Future Fibres’ patented multi-strand technology. Each ECsix cable is composed of bundles of individual pultruded carbon rods, which provide remarkable flexibility. This flexibility allows the cables to resist fractures caused by bending, compression, and impact. The design also enables the rods within the cables to move freely, allowing them to bend easily and absorb energy during impacts, further enhancing their durability.

Hybrid Carbon Rigging

AEROsix represents Future Fibres’ cutting-edge innovation in rigging, designed specifically for Grand Prix racing and high-performance superyachts. This advanced rigging solution is a hybrid carbon system that merges the dependable strength of multistrand carbon rods with the high-performance characteristics of solid carbon, offering an unparalleled rigging option.

The unique patented construction of AEROsix features a solid carbon plate integrated with bundles of multistrand carbon rods. This design combines the robustness and reliability of multistrand cables with the superior performance of solid carbon, setting a new standard in the rigging market.

Flexible Furling Stays

Future Fibres revolutionized standing rigging with their lightweight solution in 2001. Fibrelite rigging marks the evolution from traditional rod rigging, leading the way in achieving significant weight reductions by utilizing fibre rigging instead of nitronic rod.

The process begins with individual fibre spools, where the fibres are held under controlled tension and continuously wound around two titanium thimbles to the exact required length. Once the desired fibre content is achieved, the loop bundle is consolidated and protected with a braided cover. The loops around the titanium end fittings are then encapsulated in resin, ensuring the fibres are fully sealed and protected from environmental elements.

Flexible Furling Stays

Future Fibres has transformed modern yacht sailing with the development of efficient torque transfer cables like Torquelite. These innovations have made it much easier for yachts to manage large reaching sails, paving the way for the use of larger and faster sails.

Since 2000, Future Fibres has been at the forefront of building and refining torque transfer cables using a continuous winding process originally developed for America’s Cup and Open 60 campaigns. The continuously wound PBO or Kevlar cables, combined with custom cover systems, enable high torque transfer while still allowing the cable and sail to be easily dropped, flaked, or coiled for onboard storage. Each cable is custom-designed to work seamlessly with all furling systems.

Multistrand Carbon Rigging

ECtorque is designed to replace traditional headstay and furling foil combinations, allowing you to quickly and consistently stow your sails, making sailing both easier and safer. The performance of ECtorque comes from its ECsix core rod bundle, which is wound with fibres specifically arranged to transmit torque. These fibre layers are strategically biased to enhance furling efficiency, resulting in the lightest and most compact cable for the quickest furling.

ECtorque is suitable for yachts of all sizes but is especially beneficial for large cruising yachts with big headsails. It has also been successfully used in racing, such as on the J Class circuit, where it offers the performance of a hanked-on sail while significantly improving the speed and ease of handling large headsails during mark roundings.
