Internationally recognised for the design and manufacture of carbon fibre spars, rigging and rig servicing, playing a significant role in the evolution of carbon fibre rigging. Southern Spars led the industry with its first carbon spar in 1990.

 

Southern Spars has manufacturing operations in the USA, Poland, Denmark, Spain and Sri Lanka, and headquarters in New Zealand’s Auckland – employing more than 500 people around the world to produce high-performance rigging for clients that represent the pinnacle of the sailing world.

 

Southern Spars has been formed around the idea of building a team of not only highly technical people but truly passionate yachties and customer service providers. Supported by the Oakley Capital Group, investors in innovative technology leaders in bionics, medical devices, life-science equipment, cloud-based games, and security solutions, Southern Spars leads the charge in technology for the marine industry.
